I miscarried at 15 weeks with my first pregnancy.

I knew I was going to miscarry as they'd not been able to find a heartbeat at the scan at 14 weeks and told me I'd probably miscarry naturally.

I did, I was alone and at home in the middle of the night. It took a long time. The cramps started days before the actual miscarriage and I bled a lot.

For me, the pain was worse and lastest longer than when I gave birth to my daughter. Having been through a late miscarriage and labour, I can honestly say the miscarriage was much worse.

And I did both at home with no drugs so I do have some basis for comparison. The emotional pain is also crippling. I'd say I was still suffering from that a year later.

I wish you well.

I miscarried at 3 months and it didn't hurt at all, physically. Not a cramp. But every situation is different, and I know I was lucky, hard as it is to find luck in a bad situation. Hope all the answerers here have found joy since.

Emotionally, if you love your baby, it hurts a lot!!! It is a grieving process you go through, and then you have to deal with the physical aspects, like prolonged vaginal bleeding, cramping, passing tissue and blood clots, dizziness, vomiting, etc. It takes about a month to get over the physical part (that no one ever tells you about) and it takes longer to handle your feelings.

Some people have bad cramps like when you have your period when they have miscarried. The level of pain depends on the person.

It depends on the cause and on how far along you are in the pregnancy.
