Iran is goading the West. Like Germany in the 1930s, Iran knows the West will do nothing. Americans and Brits are afraid to go to war while Iran is developing nuclear weapons, fosters terrorism in Iraq, and now kidnapping British soldiers. Tony Blair thinks he can negotiate to get the soldiers back or if that fails expel Iranian diplomats from Britain. Real tough. Harry Reid of the senate and Nancy Pelosi of the house have both said that the president cannot launch any forces against Iran. What does Iran have to fear? They can send troops into Iraq and them further and the US doesn't seem to be willing to do anything about it. Until we are led into another world war which will cost more money and more lives than if we stopped Iran now.

Iran claims that sailors were arrested .5 KM inside Iranian territory. There may be mistake. However, there is no reason that issue will be sorted out through diplomatic channel.
West is goading Iran as it is not prepared to comprise on certain issues. It is not in the national interest of Iran to support terrorism. It is foolish to think that Iran can send troops to support insurgency.

I find little comparison other than what you have mentioned, some worst than others. I would compare Iran to Italy more than I would to Germany. A nuisance more than anything else.

I think if this situation stabilizes with the British then Iran will surely lose any chance at all to have anything nuclear.
I am also hoping for a successful coup to take place, the Iranian president is a nut case.

#1 No its not, If Hitler would have listened to his generals, Germany might have won WW2, Iran has no generals worth a crap and their military is a joke.
#2, It matters not what Pelosi and Reid say, Its called seperation of powers, The president is commander in chief. They are in majority for two months and are already turning into Hitlers.
#3 Iran has to fear the whole US Air Force and Navy bombing them continuously for a week. It would take 40 years for them to rebuild their infrastructure.
#4 In case you have not noticed, this is a world war. Just because it does not follow the model of past ones doesnt make it not a world war. Name a country where terrorism does not exist.

1) Iran isn't Nazi Germany.

2) Iran ISN'T developing nuclear weapons! How can they? They are 30 years behind us in missile and weapons technology!

3) There is no credible proof that Iran is fostering terrorism in Iraq--just because some IEDs were traced back to Iran. (Has anyone heard of something called a 'black market'?)

4) Bush has zero authorization to wage war against Iran.

5) What world war are you talking about?

6) And has everyone but me taken leave of their senses these days?

All these stupid questions and fearmongering isn't helping matters much. All it's doing is entertaining our worst fears by provoking others into doing something universally *stupid*.

That's how wars get started.

NO.

For starters, there are no american heroes visiting Iran, and acting as a consultant to the Iranian air force, as Charles Lindbergh did for Germany's Luftwaffe.

Second, there are no prominent american families that are arranging multi-million dollar loans for the Iranian military, as Grandpa Prescott Bush did for the Third Reich in the 1930s.

Just something to think about.

Sorry, but I see no resemblance whatsoever. No holocaust, no war machine, no occupation. As far as I'm concerned, Iran is no threat to me. We Americans ought to STOP acting as the world's policemen at our soldier's expense, and instead worry about the issues in our own backyard.

All of these answers i what i would call NON-ANSWERS. With all of the rhetoric from Tehran towards Israel, all the ant-Israel stuff, how can you people who posted these answers compare the USA to Nazi Germany. Get your heads out of your behinds.

I would say that Iraq is more like the Wiemar republic. There are a lot of parallels there!

Yep and look around we have all the Chamberlins going around asking and appeasing the Iranians.

They are called liberals.

I see 1 liberal agrees with me with a thumbs down.
Thank you
