Nope, they are trying to subliminally get the voters to vote against the people that the executives don't want to win.
They are getting desperate because www.votefortheworst.com has made it's case and currently is controlling the destiny of the show.

I think American Idol is a lame show. Period. The first couple of seasons it was a good show, but it has gone steadily downhill since then. It no longer deserves to be called a talent show. It seems more like a popularity contest.
