We have one that is about 15 minutes from my house and it is pretty fun as a family night out.

Of course! It's the only way to see a movie April-October! We've got to drive 45 minutes to get there, but it's well worth it - load the car full of friends, get to the theater, back into the spot, open the hatch & put down the seats, set out the lawn chairs for everyone who doesn't fit in the back of the car, grab your favorite snack & beverage, and enjoy the most reasonably priced double feature ever!
Thanks for reminding me of this wonderful summertime treat... Hwy 18 Outdoor theater in Jefferson, WI opens April 27th! Put it on your calendar. :-D

We used to have one with the best burgers in town. It was tore down about 20 years ago. They finally opened up a store in it's place and brought the burgers back and they are SOOOO good. I wish we still had a drive-in theatre. I think they are awesome!!

When I was young we used to go to them all the time. But they have removed the biggest majority of them from the area now. A thing of the pass though it seems. To go to one now we would have to drive 4 hrs. You are so lucky.

Once when I was about 8 or so but they've tore it down to put in a car lot. I can't believe that there's still some standing. That's awesome.

The real question is, How many are old enough to remember drive-ins? I know I am, and I had been to a few when I was a kid... All the ones around here are gone...

Many, many times. We used to go every weekend when i was a little girl. We still have one left about 45 mins away, i try to go a couple times during the season. the have "school pizza" so, bonus.

I have been hundreds of times we only have 1 where I live and we take our kids there as much as possible

I was told I was at one when I was a very, very, tiny little one, but I don't remember it. So yes I have been to one in the technical sense.

I love it! You get 2 movies for $8.00 a carload. You can talk, smoke, whatever you want right there and you don't get bothered.
