how do i make the string sound (the location of where my joint is pressing...where the bones are connected)?
it seems that if i barre the whole fret, the 3rd string can't sound at all because that's where crack is (the joint)....
how can i improve this?

The obvious answer is to press harder, but you can try to "roll" your finger just a bit to get a fleshier part of your finger over the string or even better see if you can lower the action on the guitar so you don't need to press so hard.

It's just practice. Try changing the position of your finger on the fret to try to get the best sound. And after enough practice, your muscles will learn the right way to evenly apply pressure so that every string sounds.

Try turning your finger slightly to the side and press harder...it takes practice but you'll get it! Good luck!

You have to press harder. or use 7ths instead.
