No it does not affect you from having babies. I was on birth control since I was 16 and now I am 23, I had only been off my birth control for maybe 2 weeks and I got pregnant. Every woman is different.

No. i have been on birth control for 5 years now, and I am pregnant now. I have several friends/colleagues that have been on Birth control for more than 5 years, and they got pregnant within 6 months after they got off the pill.

I don't think there is any research to support any answer one way or another, however it seems that when women take birth control for years and years and then wait to have kids they have a harder time getting pregnant. But, ability to get pregnant after 35 years old is known to decrease and other health problems increase in the mother and baby.

It depends on the type of birth control. I would say there wouldn't be a problem on the pill, but then I've heard of problems conceiving after taking the Depo Provera shot. Ask your health care provider, but rest assured, it won't make you infertile for life.

I was on the pill for about 4 years and the Depo Shot for about 2 years. Once I got married I stopped taking the shot and went back to the pill. Stopped taking the pill in November and I found out I was pregnant on the 14th of March. It really takes about 6 months to get pregnant after you stop taking the pill. I really wouldn't recommend you take the Depo Shot, it takes longer to concieve after you stop taking that.
Good luck.

NO, I was on the pill for 18 years. No pregnancies during that time. Got off the pill after I got married. I was pregnant within 6 months...it took me a while to figure out what my natural body timing was.

If you are on the pill, on average it takes about a year for your body to get back to normall to where you will be able to conceive normally. Both my sister and I were of the pill for about a year before we got pregnant. And that was with out trying though, just going through the motions to see what happened. Also, starting to take vitamines will also help.

As long as you are healthy there shouldn't be any problems. I have friends that were on birth control for a long time and went on to have healthy pregnancies.
