While I am scientifically-oriented it has been my personal experience that certain sign combinations do not lend themselves to getting past stage one, but that may be due to the personalities of the two regardless of whether they actually fit the profile of their Sun signs in a typical fashion.
A better question the researches should have asked is whether the married people felt compatible or had marriage/relationship problems - then the results MAY have indicated that certain sign combinations are more likely to show stress in the first place - so it is a study based on a flawed premise - that only enlightened soulmates get married, rather than typically mundane practical marriages, which, for the most part, IMO never should have occurred.

Some of the answers are amazing: everything from stubborn denial, to appocalypse nuts, to self-contradicting (don't believe, but virgos...), to nihilists (we don't mean much) came out of the woodwork on this one.
The last guy is pretty funny too: typical grouch who has some kind of idea that he pays too many taxes and thinks that "we payed" (sic) for a "scientist" to study this, as if a university statistician or sociologist couldn't undertake this pretty much on his own if they include the option of "Sun sign" on the form they have people fill out in surveys related to marriage studies in general. Be serious, Grumpy; how much do you think it cost to add a question to a survey?
I vote this best nut detector question of the day so far.
I consider astrology as valid as any other belief framework: if you get into that life-path and developmental stuff, then you don't go in for that sun sign love compatibility stuff anyway, and at least it's a way to keep yourself motivated toward self-improvement.
It makes as much sense as anything else that is not purely rational in origin (which is to say it's just a way to simplify things: a reality filter if you will).
I figure when your "beliefs" run headlong into reality which contradicts them, the appropriate and really sane thing to do is review and revise your beliefs so that they do not include debunked magical thinking.
But I understand why people who are undergoing grief, hardship, etc can turn to magical thinking to find meaning in their lives: it's a coping mechanism that keeps them from giving into despair... and not altogether unhealthy so long as they don't get stuck there.
Unfortunately, a lot of people are stuck in "magic trumps reason" mode a lot of the time, and some of them get really nasty and horrible about imposing their insanity on others.
Regarding relationships: the character & attitude of the partners in any couple is what is real. Magic doesn't trump character and attitude... even if you believe in Astrology.
In the end, we must find our own meaning within our own lives to keep growing, and hopefully we are wise enough to know we are doing that and don't exclude things based on hard evidence and abundant data just because were are stubbornly stuck on some simplification we latched onto in absence of evidence and data.

I dont think the article is saying people have almost no chance of love and marriaage, its just saying astrology has nothing to do with it. I have to agree, how can all the peoples' personalities in the world be narrowed down to 12 categories? (there are 12 signs right??) :-)

You mean we payed scientists to study that, as
marriage and life in general is not star related, it's
society, mistakes, and people here on this planet
earth that makes things happen.

i'm 23 years old virgin. I on no account kiss a guy. solid so which you would be able to be a virgin. save your delight and on no account compromise/supply up your values. this is challenging to steer clear of lust because of fact men are seen animals. maximum men will look at women folk and decide no remember if or no longer they love her or no longer--this is lust. After a whilst, while men and girls folk get to appreciate each others. They boost plenty greater deeper emotions for each others--this is love.

I've been happily married for 20 years. My parents have been married for 40 and my inlaws for 53 years.
I say the studies are incomplete and not worth the paper they are written on.

The stars, planets, galaxies, and the universe really don't much worry about your little life, this little planet, and yours and my little wishes. If this planet is as big as a grain of sand in Colorado, you and I aren't worth much, are we? And how bold, and brazen of us to think such a thing......

I completely agree. Personally tho, I would never date a virgo. Almost all of them just do not get along with me. At least from my experience.... maybe its not so much that we marry people of a specific sign, but we avoid the ones that we dont mesh well with.

Well, I'm relieved. My husband and I are both Leo's and I've read at several places that two Leo's are not good together!
