The classic euphanasia debate. I agree with the belief that each person should be allowed to choose when and how to die, at what age, but only to the limitations of the death not affecting anyone in a tragic way - such as throwing yourself off a 10th floor building during peak hour or decapitation by train with a full platform of people watching. Little things like that could be traumatic for young children to see.

If we could then capital punishment wouldn't be argued. There are those who think capital punishment is wrong, there are those that think euthanasia is wrong. Some people deserve to die because of something they have done, some people want to die because they no longer want to suffer.
Why can't we know who is going to be a bad person and prevent them from being born in the first place? Or who is going to get sick or who will be born with a malformality or handicap?
God knew what he was doing when he made it so we wouldn't know. Although, that doesn't stop some people from moving the date forward a bit, when He calls, there's no negotiating or postponment.
The only things we can chose are those which we have control over, and, that is quite a lengthy menu. Plenty of alternatives to thinking about death. Who wants to go to the pub for a pint?

The when is up to almost anybody, the how depends upon obtention of the means. No one can command you not to die; the only people who really try to stop you, ironically enough, are your guards if you have been condemned to die.
Suicide was a felony under Common Law, though I have no idea how the case could be pursued. Attempted suicide was punishable by death.
Those who expect human beings to behave rationally really do deserve their own private planet.

Surely we are free to do this to an extent?
If you are talking about assisted suicide in the case of the terminally ill, I think that is something that should be down to the individual involved. I know if I was in the situation where I was looking at pain and rapid decline, it would be something I would want to be free to consider, but I wouldn't like the thought that the situation could be manipulated, like for monetary gain.
This is where the procedure trips up, which is why it hasn't become legalised.

Yes I have always said that a society that accepts abortion on demand should also give the right of an Easeful death to someone who is in great deal of pain. I don't know how i stand on mental illness if this can be elevated by drugs , But if someone has battled with serious mental problems the choice should be theirs .

Regardless of your health yes you should have the right.
As for age no I don't think you should have the right until your brain has fully developed and is able to process the thoughts and consequences involved. Too many teenagers dying before their time.

No i don't think so - I do believe that people with terminal illnesses should be able to make a decision though. I think if we were allowed people suffering depression and with mental health issues would be too quick to take this option - because of the way they were feeling when sometimes medication can help them feel better

if you hate your life i think you should have that option to end it. or if your ill, i mean y suffer? its just life. you live you die. i thuink some people need to get over that fact. u dont have an eternal life on earth, so make the most of it, do waht you want . i mean sure./...ur all sayin its 'selfish' to other people im presuming? but if someone really cared about u, they should respect your choices no matter what.
