Chicago Blackhawks- Won the Cup in 1938, then missed the playoffs the next season.

Toronto Maple Leafs- Won the Cup in 1945, then missed the 1946 playoffs.

Toronto Maple Leafs- Won the Cup in 1967, then missed the playoffs the year of the expansion from 6 to 12 teams.

Montreal Canadiens- Won the Cup back-to-back years in 1968 and 69, then missed the playoffs in 1970.

I remember the NBA went in direction of a similar element in the 70's. however the activities corporation panorama has been profoundly altered for the reason that then. My feeling is that with the cap and unfastened corporation, this is totally confusing to repeat in any interest those days. I often cite the baneful venture nicely-called parity as being the dying-knell of dynasties because of the fact growth (inflation i like to call it) has diluted the skills pool to the factor the place this is slender pickings. that's why I so appreciate the crimson Wings (and to a marginally lesser quantity, the Devils), they have been able to stay continuously correct in an age of rampant turnover.

I know it happened to the Devils LMAO
Was easier to happen when only 4 of 6 made it back when hockey was really cool (before Americans took over and screwed it up).
Maybe Buffalo wins. Anyone but Ottawa. I hate Alfredson
