What are the reasons Sanjaya has not been Voted off Idol?

All he is doing is making contestants with REAL QUALITY talents being voted off. When Sundance was voted off I was pissed!

Because he's getting more votes then someone else or it's because the executive producers who get a final say in everything, are keeping him there because he's probably bringing the ratings up. So many people hate him but watch AI religiously and EVERYONE is talking about him. Remember any publicity is good publicity so...

Howard Stern has a contest called, "Vote-for-the-worst", which is why Sanjaya has ben getting so many votes. While Stern thinks his prank is hilarious, the rest of us with sense know that Idol will change it's voting system...maybe allowing the judges to over-rule dialed-in votes. The problem is: now that Sanjaya (mohawk and all) is in the top 10, he gets to tour with the rest of the Idolers when the season's over. Oh yippity.

Actually, Howard Stern's wife was a guest co-host on ABC's THE VIEW yesterday and she said that Howard had been urging his listeners and viewers to vote for Sanjaya because Stern felt that, despite Sanjaya's talent ... he wanted to see if American Idol could handle his fan base pushing Sanjaya ahead of the other more qualified contestants.

There exists several theories. One is that he is the first Indian-American made it that far into the contest and a large number of Indian-American would rather vote for him instead of other contestants. Second theory is that Howard Stern is publicly asking his listeners to vote for him just to prove American Idol is nothing but a joke. Third theory is that the "teenage" viewers consider him the cutest of them all and vote for him no matter how good or how bad his performance is.

1. His hair: Everybody loves his hair...it's wacky every week and everybody likes it so they vote.
2. American Idol haters: people who hate American Idol vote for him, to try to ruin the show. (and they are doing a pretty good job of it)
3. His friendliness: Sanjaya always has a big smile on his face, and everybody loves it so they vote for him.
4. His race: A lot of Indians are voting for him, since he is Indian.
5. His age: Young teens that watch American Idol think he is really cute and want to be his husband, so they vote for him.

BTW: There is no way that votes are coming in from India. The 866 numbers only work in the US. It is also about 2 am there when voting starts and they don't see the show. They also have their own "Indian Idol" show and couldn't care less about the American version.

I think people just want to see what he is going to do next. I've definitely not voted for him. He never should have made it to the finals. If he doesn't go home tonight, something is seriously wrong with people!
