Im studying a course in child development, and the right answer is that a white baby is born with blue/grey eyes and a black baby is born with brown eyes. Every baby is different and develop at different rates but by 12 months the baby's eye colour will be decided.

I have asked this question many times (my daughter is 9 mos. old and her eyes are still changing colors), and al the experienced moms say that the norm is between 4-12 months. but a small percenage of children´s eye color change later. my husband had light brown eyes at a year, which went to hazel during grade school, and changed to green- blue when he was 20!

My brother (optometrist) told me that they can gain their true pigmentation 3-9 months, though 3-4 is most common. The gray color, or black-brown color is lack of pigmentation, so check for a bolder color. My daughter is 4 months old, and her eyes were definitely blue by 3 months.

I'm honestly not really sure. I think it might be different for each child. My mom says that all babies are born w/blue eyes, but I don't think so. My daughter's eyes are brown and I can't remember them ever being a different color. In fact in the pics we have from when she was 2m her eyes were brown. My son has my eyes. They are so beautiful on him. They're blue in the outer ring, green in middle ring, and brown in the inner most ring. The green and brown kind run together though. They sometimes look green when he's wearing green and blue when he's wearing blue.

I heard that they might nonetheless substitute until they're 3 years previous. undecided how actual that's in spite of the incontrovertible fact that. My daughter is 15 months and we are nonetheless undecided what shade her eyes are going to be, they went from dark blue (like her father) to eco-friendly (like my brother) and now they're kinda in a transition into my eye shade (hazel).
