When people ask a yes or no question why do they give you a thumbs down if you answer the way that they don't agree with? THEY ASKED! If they don't really wanna know then why do they ask?

I so absolutely agree with you on that.
And how about you thumbing down every body down here,if you don't like the answers to your question:that would the exact same thing

Ugg. I think people just want to be affirmed in what they think. They wanna feel good about themselves.

Like some bloke who asks, "Am I a jerk for dumping my girlfriend on her birthday?", is gonna give you a thumbs down for telling him, "Yes, you're a moron.".

It just stinks.

because people want to feel affirmed. they aren't really asking about the topic, they're asking about themselves.

incidentally, thumbs-up/ thumbs down comes from the roman Colosseum.
