I am 5 months pregnant and recently got an overwhelming craving for a Burger King Whopper sandwich, I know it may sound funny but it's serious. Any other food I eat isnt satisfying me! It's even to the point where ill fix an all-time favorite of mine and i'll sit and stare at it, often feeling naseus. I know whoppers arent the healthiest choice but I feel like I could eat them for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! Prior to the pregnancy I never even cared for fast food, so I dont really understand why I am craving these, any insight?

Mine is doritos and salt and vinegar chips - the saltier the better.... great when I'm already retaining water!!!! My doctor said that it was okay to eat what sounds and tastes good to me as long as I keep a balanced diet and don't just eat doritos and chips!!! Keep trying other things and be sure to take your prenatal vitamin. GOOD LUCK!!!

It's normal. With my last pregnancy, I craved whoppers too. Funny how that works!! Give in to it once and see if the craving stops. Sometimes it's something your body needs in the burger, or just something you want. It's nothing serious, and it won't hurt the baby to give in to cravings, just do it in moderation. I know for me, when I get cravings, I give in after a few days and eat it. If it lasts that long, then there is probably something your body needs in that particular food. It could be the iron in the burger, or more fat then you are eating right now. So go ahead, indulge this just once and see how you feel. It's ok to have one every once in a while- once a week is about right as far as I'm concerned ;). Right now, I crave cream cheese brownies and mint oreo shakes, so a whopper really isn't that bad. Good luck and don't worry!! You aren't hurting your baby by giving in to a craving!

The old wives tale would tell you your are having a boy since you are craving red meat. I wonder if you are. I always crave sweets and fruit when I'm pregnant and have had only girls. I dont' know what causes us to get cravings, I don't think anyone knows. I feel the same way about sweets that you do about burger king! It's not the healthiest thing and terribly difficult to manage.

I know how you feel! Cravings are weird, it is like if I dont have it now someone is going to get hurt! Haha, I have that about fast food too. Mine is taco time, and also I crave fruit constantly. My favorite food is spagettie, and now I cant eat it, i cant eat pasta at all for some reason. Pregnancy does weird things to you. I am 7 months and the cravings for strange things are getting worse! all i can say to do is give in to your cravings. Just as long as you eat healthy food along with it, you'll be fine! now is not a time to worry about your weight! Good luck

I would say that even though they are not good for you, you could order a Whopper Jr, take off the mayo, and it's just a burger then!
I have hot fudge sundae cravings like MAD. If I don't give in, after about an hour I get all bouncy-kneed and anxious.
My husband packs me in the car and we drive to get the sundae.
Nothing you can do about it!

I have always loved fruits and veggies, I still do. But when I was pregnant, I CRAVED peaches! In a can with light syrup. I would go nuts if I didn't get to have at least one can a night. If I ran out of them I went by the store on my way home from work to get some. I had to have them. After my son was born they just didn't seem to taste the same and I haven't had many canned peaches since. Also while I was pregnant, the smell of flowers made me ill! It is just one of those weird things you go through.

I am due any day now and my cravings have ranged from a plain scrambled egg to pasta to the latest, the smell of pine sol. Still think yours is crazy? Give in to it. This is the time in a woman's life that she can be a pig and still be socially acceptable. One of my 1st cravings were a crispy chicken sandwich w/o the bun, I ate it w/ a fork. Enjoy being pregnant.

I had major cravings for K.F.C
For me it was the smell of certain foods that set me off, or just walking past a sign with food on it made me have have sudden cravings for it, even if I never ate that food before.
Hopefully it will pass, I cant stand K.F.C now

I know that for me, it's cereal. I can't get enough of it. I have about six different kinds at home and two gallons of milk because I eat so much of it now. The thought of making something else to eat actually makes me want to throw up. No real explination for it. Just a wonderful symptom of pregnancy.

I don't think this craving will last very long. Just go with it, eat them, but in moderation and eventually you will tire of eating them and crave something else. That always happens to me.
