you already have loads of good suggestions.
Here's one, rather than a person changing over time, how about an animal, kitten into cat, puppy into dog. These are things you will have seen, unless you walk around with a paper bag over your head.
Frogspawn into frog.
what I'm trying to say is paint something you have seen happen.
Or if you want to be ironic, paint yourself painting your exam piece..over time, in montage fashion.

Go on-line and find Brixton Windmill. This is the only surviving London windmill and is used these days as a music venue for 'events' and other things too. The main thing about this Windmill is that it has been rumoured to have been painted by famous artists of the past. No, not a painting of the windmill itself, but actually painting the entire windmill as an object of art - an artist working as a painter. This will be an interesting project. Find out as much as you can about it.

"ART IS NOT A CRIME" - saw this daubed up somewhere along the track leading towards London Bridge. An artist's protest for being hounded by the fuzz for art creation in public spaces - graffiti etc.

Sorry you don't like modern art & futurism cos you don't think it's real...

I actually think it is a very neglected, important area for study - far more important than trying to replicate pictures as if you've taken photos, or drawing the proverbial bowl of fruit.

If you have no imagination, why are you studying art?
Anyway, what can you do to get your's working??

You have to think of one thing, then find links / images to sustain that.
EG. The Doomsday clock. What images does that conjure up? G.W. Bush with a missile stuck up his nose, with a speech bubble saying: "What time is it?"
Or can you think of something better???

Your question isn't at all clear - i don't know if you mean "time" is the topic you have to do, or if "time" is the topic you want to do, but aren't allowed to.
Because of that, I can't spend any more time on helping you, but good luck with your exam - I hope you pass with flying colours!

That's tough!

I mean, if you're not the kind to have an imagination, what are studying art for?

It's like a doctor who doesn't want to operate because he doesn't have the coordination...yikes!

That's a recipe for disaster.

Take some time and just sketch, until something comes to you. Take a break and take a walk around your neighborhood, notice the small details in things that you pass by...maybe something will spark your interest and imagination.

Exercise your imagination.

I know this has been done before...but do something that has to do with still life. Like a bowl of fruit sitting on a table next to a window. Show how the shadow changes as the sun goes down....or a flower dieing or just out in the sun and you could use the shadow.

Something like that i guess.

Time, passage of time a flower or tree growing getting taller, leaves appearing , seasons changing leaves, flowers dropping.
Or some form of painting with a sunrise gradually migrating into sunset and day turning to night.
I remember Art lessons well.

Sorry, I as just going to tell you about the time I made a paper mache squirrel and painted it blue and orange. I almost got thrown out of art class over that one!

Can you do something with "cat clocks" or "cuckoo clocks"?

Remember, Time keeps on slippin', slippin', slippin', into the future... :)

Use your talents - if you have chosen the subject of time, assess which area is your best - charcoal, photography, watercolours and utilise your skills in this field. As for inspiration some of the other suggestions are really good.
