Is 29 weeks too early to lose your mucus plug, Or can you lose it at anytime??? I just lost mine a few minutes agoa nd was wondering.. And I do know what it looks like because I lost mine at 38 weeks with my son.. Even though he wasn't born until 3 weeks later... I was just worried and thought I would ask...

Anatomically, there are two openings within the cervix. The internal os is part of the lower uterine segment and this portion begins to stretch and thin (efface) as gestation advances. Any effacement or dilation of the internal or external os may cause discharge or the loss of the mucous plug. This barrier of cervical mucous will "regenerate" to some extent and this discharge may stop soon only to restart with intercourse or activity or another cervical check.

You said you did not have a bloddy show. So i would not worry to much. When you lose the whole mucus plug earlier on most have a pink tinge to it before they go into labor. Not allways but mostly if it is going to be a permature birth.

If your doctors do no know you lost it call them and they will check to see if most is intact on your next visit.

Good luck and Congrats.

I lost my mucus plug at 32 weeks, my doctor said that it was okay it just meant that the baby is ready sometime soon. My dauhgter was then born a week and a half late. Might want to call your doctor just to inform them a what is happening with you just in case.

Yeah, this is kind of early. Has your pregnancy been healthy so far? Give your doctor a call and let them know what happened. They'll advise you what to do.

Ask your dr. Call him/her soon so that you'll get a hold of the office before it closes. It sounds early to me, but I could be wrong.

as long as you aren't bleeding, sounds fine to me.

When is your next appointment? Call your Dr and tell them you lost it and see what they say. I lost mine early with my first, and thought he was coming SOON lol but NO!
