I have heard a lot of teachers say that they really don't like to give so much homework, but that their students' parents judge the quality of a class (or school) by how much homework the teacher(s) assign. When parents demand a lot of homework, the teachers cave in and give them what they want. So probably any parents who ask why so much homework is assigned would be listened to. Teachers need to know that the tide has turned.
On the other hand, if too many math problems are assigned, probably not enough writing is assigned. And the writing will be more important in your everyday life.

When I took a 5hour Calculus course @ LSU it was an accelerated course lasting 7 weeks. 8AM to 10:30AM five days per week.
The PhD professor gave us 150 to 200 problems to do every single day including Friday's.
I used to have to stay up till 2AM or 3AM to get all of those problems done. My trick was we started a study group of about 5-8 people.
We'd all start working and help each other. Not cheating but a tool for helping to learn.
Made a "A" and I think I deserved it after all that work.
But then some teachers act like their course is the "only one you're taking" and they lay on the homework.
Forgot to mention that in this same summer session I was taking a 3 hour Chemistry class for which I never studied. Ended up with a "B" but I think it was summer and the teacher was feeling good and generous. I relied on my Chemistry knowledge from high school to help me pass this course. I never studied as I didn't have the time due to the math class.

Exactly what do you mean by 'giving 100 pages of math'?
If your questions covered that amount of paper, then it is certainly unreasonable. Was you homework possibly some questions out of a book with 100 pages?

"...like a 100 pages of math stuff a night!"
Yeah, like I believe that. So, if she has 20 students in your class, she's going to grade 2,000 pages a day for just one class? I think you'd better do your math homework. You need it.

You will be thankful for it later, believe me. Last year I had this teacher that gave us tons of homework. I hated it. Now, though, I'm glad she did because I can handle what I get now easilly. If she hadn't of made me do all that work, I would struggle with what I have now. I know you don't relize it now, and probably don't believe me, but your teacher is doing you a favor. Think about how far ahead you will be if you do this work.

teachers give som much homework so you can learn the material better by reiteration. Also homework could also be used to make you learn something new by yourslef. they are also preparing you for higher education like high school and college.

Maybe it's because she wants you to know math. Trust me, of all the subjects I learned in school, math is the one I use the most in daily life.

part of it is that math is learned mostly by doing it, remembering the functions, and ways to solve it. Another good explanation is that she is plain evil and only wants to get back at you for all the times you threw paper airplanes when her back was turned.

Homework is a form of assessment. Teachers use it to assess if you learned what they taught that day, and if their lesson plans were effective.

I doubt she gives that much, but it'll help with your maths skills.
