Becuase the natural place for a woman is in the kitchen and on the bed making babies. Her fragile mind can't cope with all the problems of the outside world. Thats why womens' feet are smaller than mens. So they can get closer to the stove. Which is why women dont need wristwatches; there's a clock on the microwave AND the stove. Men are hunter-gatherers lady. So lay back, feed us dirty stinking men, talk on the phone, eat your Bon-Bons like Peggy Bundy and be a stay at home wife. Lastly, if you take anything I have have said seriously, then get a new sense of humor. Its called a joke. Take care mom.

Actually, there are stay-at-home husbands. However they are more rare than stay-at-home wives. Part of that is the old tradition of women staying home to raise the family and men working outside the home....part of it is that typically men earn more than women so it's more financially reasonable for the person who makes the higher income to be the breadwinner (if only one person is going to work).

It's most common nowadays though, for both parties to work as it can be difficult to get by without both incomes.

Go to a playground on a weekday morning and take a look around. How many fathers do you see? Probably not many. According to a U.S. Bureau of the Census report released in May 2006, there were 143,000 stay-at-home dads versus 5.6 million stay-at-home moms in 2005 ("Americans Marrying Older, Living Alone More, See Households Shrinking" U.S. Census Bureau, May 25, 2006, visited on the Internet on August 10, 2006). However, the number of stay-at-home dads has been increasing. In 2003, there were 98,000 stay-at-home dads out of a total of 5.5 million stay-at-home parents ("Stay-at-Home Parents Top 5 Million" U.S. Census Bureau, November 30, 2004, visited on the Internet on August 10, 2006).

Socitey...socitey...socitey! We've built this idea that men that stay at home are less of a man to those who go out and work. It's not like we got this idea for no where though. Since the beginning of time the male species has usually been the one that hunted and brought home food for their family. Of course times have changed and this concept of men working while the wife sits at home is now outdated. Male pride, I don't think, is going anywhere any time soon. I want be the one that works! I don't look down on men that choose other wise. That is their choice.

God din't give men strong muscles to sit home and change diapers, God said' the wife is to be the keeper of the home.'
men need to get out and be a productive member of society.
today wives say they need that--but the guys don't? how p.c.
and how many wives are stopping at the bar after work and hooking up with a guy?? you wouldn't read that much honesty on this board, used to be a child care worker--majority of sexually abused small daughters were abused by their own daddies, while mommie was out. 1 out of 3 girls are, in this society. but you ALL think its not your brother, not your best friends.

They are extremly rare, but they do exist. I had an ex and he stayed home with the kids because he did construction and during the winter there was no work and I was home on maturnity leave and decided that I would go back to work and he stayed home with our 5 month old and my 2 other children (school age at the time) This worked out for us and I LOVED it. he had dinner prepared for me every evening I got home and the house cleaned and most importantly..he always had a hot bath waiting for me. (I'm drooling thinking about it right now)

There are stay at home husbands. My brother is one of them. The mother can't deal with the kids so she goes out and work two jobs just so that she doesn't have to deal with them.
