I have 2 snails, I think its their eggs. But from what I know, aren't they suppose to lay the eggs above waterline? The eggs are not above water line...they are ON the water line so like half of the jelly stuff is in the water and the other half is not. I dunno what kind of snails I have, I asked for them at the aquarium (brown tiny ones) and I only had two. I hope the eggs would hatch cause one of the snails climbed out of the aquarium while I was asleep and died this morning.. :(

Those are eggs. Not all snails lay their eggs above the water line.

Yes snails are hermaphrodite, but you still need two snails to produce fertilized eggs. They exchange gametes.

I use to have a huge 65 gal. fresh water tank. Got it for my Kitty-Mysti. But she got jealous of all the cleaning, etc. you have to do to the tank and I had to sell it. But to answer your question; I had snails also; and that is their eggs. You can look under yahoo images and type in snail eggs and perhaps get a pic of them. But mine even laid eggs on the underside of the tank hood. It looks like a gob of clear gel. If you leave it alone some will hatch and bury themselves in the gravel till older; and the fish will try to eat some of the eggs.

Snails are hermaphrodite (can't spell!) so basically you only need 1 to breed them because they are both male and female!!
Also fish can either be livebearers (give birth to live young) or lay eggs. Fish usually only lay 1 egg at a time so i think it is snail eggs!!
Snail eggs also only lay under water. Unless they are garden snails!!

Yep snail eggs no doubt. They should hatch before long at all and you will have all the snails you ever wanted :)

That is what my ramshorn snail eggs look like a week or so after they were laid. Do your snails look anything like this, http://www.aqualandpetsplus.com/Bug,%20Snails,%20Colombian%20Ramshorns.htm
