Doing research at the Archivi di Stato in Florence a full week. Hands on experience with archive treasures of Renaissance artists including Leonardo, Botticelli, Brunelleschi, Michelangelo et alia. Just wonderful to be in direct contact with these guys across the centuries. It was many years ago, probably impossible to get permission nowadays. Great holiday!

It has to be travelling to Canada and travelling the Rocky Mountaineer train, and then by car through the Rockies and then on to Vancouver and Victoria Island and Whale watching and to top it all off going to Alaska on a cruise and visiting the Hubbard Glacier. All in beautiful weather with clear blue skies and white snow. A very special occasion with a very special person which I will always remember.I am from the UK so it was a long but worthwhile trip, and I'm old enough to have had a lot of holidays that involved sun, sand and beer.....

My favorite holiday was whenever my favorite band YES performed a concert. I am comfortable calling a concert a holiday because I have always said I enjoyed a YES concert more than Christmas. Maybe my favorite holiday "ever" was the 1999 The Ladder Tour where I got to stand right up against the stage, front and center, with nothing between me and the band but air.

Do you mean vacation or like a holiday like christmas or your birthday or something like that.
Actually my favourite holiday falls under both catagoreys. I travelled to south africa 12 years ago to meet a penpal and her family for the first time. I stayed over christmas and new year's and until late January and it was wonderful! Saw from Boulders Beach all around the western cape to George and Knysna and into the interior as far as Ladismith.

Three weeks in Sydney over Xmas and the New Year
Highlights were climbing the bridge and obviously being on the water on New Years Eve with a fantastic view of the bridge and the fireworks
The weather helped a lot also it was red hot (not like back here in the UK!)

Disneyland in Los Angeles, going to Disneyworld in November to really see more of the Disney brigade. Disneyland was fantastic, even though I am grow-up, it was a magical experience. Also went to Las Vegas-what a disapointment

My best holiday ever was in the Dominican Republic, resort Bayahibe. The hotel was fantastic, food out of this world, and it was all inclusive.
