You can do this in the form of a prayer, or with Mantras. Some also believe in calling the name of the spirit or angel 3 times brings them to you, then you just ask for the help you need.
Sometimes the simple way is the best way, which is just ask!

The last thing you want to do is ask for an angel to be sent to you. Think about it rationally. In the bible, when an angel shows up how often is it a good thing? SO ask God for help, and he will take care of you, but asking Michael, Peter, even Gabriel for help and you might be in a whole other pickle.

Just call them to you. ask for their help. It works for me, but I normally just call to God, He'll send the right help. If he doesn't send what I think I need, it's not what I need. If no help comes, it's my lesson.
