These liberals get crazier every day. Those of you that don’t consider yourself “liberal” but vote democratic, these are the kinds of nutty things you’re voting FOR. Read this brief report and see how our children are being taught, oh and just because this happened in a private daycare don’t think for a minute it doesn’t happen in our public schools. My 12 year old sister had to watch Al Gore’s liberal, tree hugging, junk science movie on global warming this year in the public school. Our kids are being brain washed to be liberals, although it sort of makes sense, libs abort their kids so they need to brain wash ours to have a chance at a future for liberalism.

Banning LEGOs

Teachers at a Seattle day care center decided to ban LEGO building blocks — those colorful little bricks kids use to build such creations as robots, monster trucks, space ships and vast futuristic cities. The Hilltop Children's Center bills itself as a nationally recognized, non-profit, non-religious facility. So why did the teachers toss the LEGOs?

We'll let them explain: "We agreed that we want to take part in shaping the children's understandings from a perspective of social justice. So we decided to take the LEGOs out of the classroom. The children were building their assumptions about ownership and the social power it conveys — assumptions that mirrored those of a class-based, capitalist society — a society that we teachers believe to be unjust and oppressive."

After months of what the teachers called "social justice exploration" — they let the LEGOs back in — but kids were only allowed to build "public structures" of standard sizes in a village dedicated to what they called "collectivity and consensus."

Did you get this part-> capitalist society — a society that we teachers believe to be unjust and oppressive." So apparently teachers feel that a person working hard and getting ahead is “unjust and oppressive” I just don’t get it.

First of all, you don't know anything about Liberals. MY family is Liberal and they did not abort me or my brother and oh yeah I hope you realize that we LIVE ON THE EARTH AND WE NEED TO PROTECT IT. I see Al's movie as A WAKE UP CALL AND YOU MISS THE POINT. Also It does matter that it is a PRIVATE day care. The thing is not being run by the state, if the parents don't like what they are doing they can just pull their kid out. Stop your liberal bashing or I will have to remind you about the dumb Conservatives in the White House and Congress. I forgot to say this, The way the people are talking is not liberalism, BUT COMMUNISM. Liberals do want Capitalism, COMMUNISM dose not. If you want to tell the diffrence, read the Communist Manafasto by Marix. You will understand your mistake. I know your mad that a toy was pulled out for some strange reason and I do love playing with Legos when I was a child. As I said the parents are paying the people who run the day care. I the parents don't like what they are doing, they can pull their child out and find another day care.

This is, I admit, stupid. Banning Legos, then when reintroducing them 'allowing' them to only build certain types of structures. The only thing that went though my mind was 'Big Brother' from "1984" and the totalitarian state of the government. I always thought that LEGOs promoted creativity and I've also heard that it helps children in math.

Crazy, what's next, finger painting? After all some kid might get his/her feelings hurt because a kid nearby can paint better.

I grew up with Legos, and they are probably one of the best toys to have as they let a child exercise their creativity. Don't get me wrong, their is always some wck-job organization somewhere that comes up with things like this once in a while, but if this is the being of the "New American Scheme of Things," I think I'm going to be in the market for a new country to live in.

Okay lady, time for another happy pill. This is a private school, that has nothing to do with the democratic party, or public education. So one teacher had a stupid idea, and you're going after half our government. Over react much?

I'm probably what you would call a "liberal" and I played with Lego's as a kid. I didn't realize there was a widespread movement to ban them... thanks for bringing that invaluable bit of information to my attention! Your dedication to getting the word out concerning this "issue" is commendable! Bravo!

That's almost as a dumb as the Cons banning teens from wearing low rider pants or putting them in jail for missing appointments with school teachers. Or Cons banning gay marriage...talk about nanny state. At least there no fines for being caught with legos.

How is capitalism oppressive????? Capitalism is freedom! Capitalism is the OPPOSITE of oppression - ****, THEY'RE the ones BANNING something, SQUASHING CREATIVITY - - - trust me, the children will learn more from the action than from the words - this will backfire.

This is another case of cherry picking issues. This was a private school and the school has every right to run the school anyway they want. I personally would have pulled my kids out of that school, but they still have the right.

The fact that the school did that is ridciulous, but the assumptions you make about liberals are equally ridiculous.
