It is a lot easier to get drafted than it is to make the Major League team. A large percentage of the players that get drafted never step on the field for the prosective Major League team.

Usually the best high school players are drafted high and go straight to the minor leagues. Guys that go to college were either drafted late or not at all. It's not as difficult to get drafted as it is to make it to the show.
