Nature-wise I think not. As animals living in the wild our survival depends on our ability to spread our seed.

But as a benefit to civilization via the cultivation of a better society monogamy provides a sufficient backbone.

Personally I think its a conflict of nature and the constrains society puts on nature to better itself.

I dont think there are any physical obligations or pre-wiring that says humans should be monogamous.

I equate getting mad over cheating with fighting for a potential mate (which many animals in fact do) -- and that is indeed in our hard wiring.

Though if monogamy happens it is out of benefit for the offspring. Monogamy adds better protection and a sort of guarantee for offspring survival. But this is a survival tactic not a love tactic.

The concept of love in my understanding, creates a platform for companionship -- however people have a capacity for love that corresponds to their various needs for companionship.

--its a matter of strength vs. weakness.

If you are strong you dont need assistance to survive. That's my interpretation of nature.

We are animals. Some animals but not all are also monogamous. But we have evolved emotionally and mentally. We know that promescuity can cause disease. We know that adultery or infidelity can cause emotional pain and ruin relationships. It is a decision based on ones character. I do not believe in meant to be's

Monogamy is a choice -- I don't know what you mean by "meant to be". For many humans monogamy is a good choice -- each partner gets reasonably secure love, sex, companionship. It makes economic sense -- 2 can live nearly as cheaply as one. If there are children, they are brought up in a stable family. There are other choices -- fooling around, polygamy, one-night stands, watching TV all by yourself, etc. They each suit some people, but for most monogamy is the preferred state -- just look around.

Humans were meant to procreate, Monogamy is a rule that Humanity created to keep order and Human Ethics in check.

biologically: no. regardless of your moral beliefs, humans are primates and primates breed in much the same way wolves do. being social animals they form groups, each group is headed by a dominant male and he mates with all the females in his group. it is an evolutionary adaption to ensure the best genes are passed on, this is not a question.

by "meant to be", i'm guessing that you mean, "is it natural for humans to be monogamous?"

i say let a poll of the human race speak for itself. how many people like being cheated on? most people don't. so how does one define "cheating"? usually it involves the person cheated on caring for the other person who cheats and then being hurt by their betrayal. this implies that it's difficult to truly devote yourself to more than one person. and people who aren't hurt by cheating probably didn't truly care for the other person in the first place.

conclusion: it is natural for humans to want to be loved. that involves taking a risk and loving someone else. the risk is that you will be rejected. so...generally speaking i think that the answer to your question is "Yes". and the exceptions who like sleeping around are people who don't really value love.
