Here is the situation: I have a new mobo and when I installed it windows would only start in safe mode so I decided to reinstall windows. I have a Maxtor 6Y200M0 Diamond Plus 9 HD and windows does not support it. When reinstalling windows says to press f6 to install drivers for scsi or raid devices so I press that and it ask for a floppy. I went on Maxtors website and got the drivers and when I try to use to it just says "the file txtsetup.oem could not be found". Should I be trying to use drivers from the mobo manufacturer? BTW, my mother board is a MSI K8M890M2-V. Can anyone help me or tell me what I need to do to get windows to work with my HD?

First you need to go into you BIOS setup and ensure that the SATA is enabled.
Then when you install Windows you have to hit "F6" to install the SATA drivers.
Did you follow the instructions on creating a driver floppy from the file you downloaded?
You have to create a usable floppy from that file since it is encoded. that is probably why you get that error message.

Take a look here and let me know how it works out.

First make a new disk using this link. http://www.msi.com.tw/program/support/driver/dvr/spt_dvr_detail.php?UID=724&kind=1

Select> VIA VT8237(R) SATA RAID Driver (For floppy driver)

Pick your OS.

Then in your bios, make sure to enable raid.
