just tell them the truth, it may hurt their feelings, but it wont hurt half as much for them to know that you lied to them and then they find the truth out from someone else.. the truth may hurt, but it sets you free..

If the "truth" in this matter is going to be something you know they don't want to hear, then there is really no way to sugar-coat it enough to NOT hurt their feelings. The best you can do is to approach it sensibly, sensitively & be sure to be gentle. Feelings may be hurt, but you need to be true & honest with yourself, hence why you are doing this in the first place.

Have you ever heard the addage "Truth Hurts"? How someone reacts to the truth is their problem. If they are going to be hurt by it, not much you can do.

not possible, sometimes the truth hurts, as they say. So you have to decide if it's worth hurting their feelings or not.
