....Music video when you were a kid? What one sticks out in your memory, and made you think, "wooow that was cooool!!"?

As a kid, mine was, (don't laugh now!) "Sledgehammer" from Peter Gabriel. The dancing dead chicken (among other things) made me laugh everytime! lol

When I was a teen or so, "Freak On A Leash" from Korn caught my eye. That was so beautifully crossed between cartoon and real.

So? What was your fav???

There were no music videos when I was a kid. In the 1950s there was a TV show called the HIT PARADE. All of the popular music was acted out on stage, live with dancers and their regular singers, who had to learn all of the pop music and perform the top ten every week.

Somewhere around 1955 ROCK AND ROLL crossed the barrier and was included with the top ten. The old singers just couldn't do it. I saw Russell Arms, one of the regulars , in a motor cycle jacket singing Don't be cruel. The show was doomed.

In the 1960s there was a thing called MUSIC VIDEO. It was a Jukebox with a music video , the only song I remember seeing was Brenda Lee singing Jingle bell rock.

This was the birth of music video.

Well I have many but a few that really stand out in my mind are:

Mickey - Toni Basil - because I was a cheerleader and I really could relate to that video.

Love Is a Battlefield - Pat Benetar - The New Wave Hookers disco dancing in a bar and that sorry a s s pimp in the John Travolta Disco Suit.

Men At Work - Living In A Land Down Under because that guy in the band had a stuffed Koala Bear on a makeshift leash that he was dragging around in the video and I wanted to know what in the hell a vegemite sandwich was

Green Jello: "The bear went over the Mountain" or whatever that song was called. And then it was "What is it" with that fish that flopped around before the giant explosion by the piano. Too long ago can't remember names as well or I'm going senile.

When I was a kid I LOVED Cyndi Lauper. Especially Girls Just Want to Have Fun. To this day whenever I hear it I turn it up and sing my little heart out!

I really liked Michael Jackson's video "Do You Remember the Time". They were dressed up like Egyptians and he had Iman and Eddie Murphy in the video.
