I thought it was good not phenomenal as some are saying. It was a frail effort from Scorsese considering that he directed the cinematic masterpiece that is 'Taxi Driver'. It had some good (not amazing) performances and very adept direction but I wouldn't consider the film in general as oscar-worthy. (8/10)

Well, about an hour into it I got bored. In another 30 minutes I got extremely bored. And for the rest of the movie I kept wondering how much longer is this piece of #$^# movie! And then the end came and it wasn't even worth the 34562345 hours I sat there watching it. Then the credits started to roll and I could already tell those were gonna suck too. So I left. I can't believe someone tried to compare that movie to Goodfellas. The Departed f'n sucked. The story was lame and I got tired of watching leonardo scowl at everyone and everything for 54654426 hours. That and ol' Jack just didn't quite sell me on his "boss" role. All in all it was a waste of time.

EXCELLENT MOVIE!
Jack Nicholson was good
Leonardo DiCaprio was great
but, Matt Damon stole the show as a charming scumbag police detective mob snitch.
The movie has a high body count - I tried to count, but I lost track of how many people were killed in the movie.

awesome movie!! started with strikes against it cuz i don't like wahlberg or dicaprio. but it was quick and i forgot i was watching a couple of dudes i can't stand. i was riveted as the movie went along. felt a little confused cuz i was wondering 'these guys can't be this blind to not know who the rat is' but still enjoying it. once nicholson was waxed, i knew this was going to have a shocking ending. wasn't disappointed. this was an excellent movie and will watch it many times to come

The first movie was great because of the story, directing and cast.
Now there are rumors flying about a sequel that would feature "the last man standing" detective Dignam (Mark Wahlberg), the only question I would have is who is going to star beside him? Who would be able to "outbid" such stars as Leo and Matt???

Didn't watch the movie. A bit appalled as I didn't want to spoil the original version made in Hong Kong. Believe it's great. But the original will always be better.

Saw it last night, I thought it was great. Seems like some answers were left out. Like what was in the envelope leo gave to the doctor. And how did Marky Mark know to kill that guy, and why did he kill him and not arrest him?

I thought it was a great movie! I really like a bunch of the actors, so that helps. It really kept me on my toes, and I like that in a movie.

i think we can put the bed the rumors about a sequel, Wahlberg came out this week and said that he doesn't like working with Scorsese because they two get on each others nerves constantly.
