in order to reduce water loss. since the stomatas function is for gaseous exchange.In daylight stomata are open so carbon dioxide(essential for photosynthesis) can diffuse in .however at night no light no photosynthesis then there is no need for carbon dioxide. and since an open stomata causes water loss there is no need to live it open a night-it just respires using the glucose formed during photosynthesis!

Some plants stop photosynthesising at night, due to the fact that there is no sunlight. The stomata is used to allow needed resources and waste products to be let in/out, respectively. When the photosynthesis stops, there isn't a need for this.

It is, simply, to reduce water loss over night via water vapour, as the plant cannot photosynthesise at night due to lack or non-existence of sunlight, it cannot produce energy for the roots for active transport for the uptake of water innthe vascular pathway.

closing stoma resticts the loss of water, however also restricts intake of gases (co2 and o2) which restricts photosynthesis as well as cellular respiration. at night, plants cannot photosynthesize so, to preserve water, they close their stoma.

Because there is no sunlight, so they can't photosynthesise (so can't feed) and therefore there is no point in them using energy etc by opening them. It's for its own safety, basically.

because they generally don't photosynthesis in no sun light. so they don't need any CO2
