I think it should be optional. People at that age are independent adults, and therefore should be allowed to make their own choices regarding how they approach tertiary study, and face the results of their actions.

OPTIONAL!!! I hate when profs take attendance. If I can pass the class without showing up then I should be rewarded for that. Also I'm paying to go to school, so I should get as little or as much of my money's worth as I want.

Optional. But I think they should get credit for coming. In this way, those who attend class will sort of get like extra credit, which would be like a punishment or disadvantage for those who do well but don't attend class. Those who do well and attend class with get the extra points to up their grade.

If you want to pass you should attend. I don't think that professors can make you because you are paying for the classes, unlike in high school.

I think if you pay your money, you should pass the class. A's should just cost a little more!

my guess would be that whomever is paying the tuition sure woudln't think it was optional.
