Yes, a nerdy question I know, but I've never read one and have heard some are good. Any suggestions?

It all depends on which Star Trek series you prefer.

While the paperback series books are good for casual reading, I found the hardback books much more enjoyable. The books that step outside the main stories and elaborate. Books such as "Imzadi" and "The Eugenics Wars (pt 1 & 2)". The New Frontier books are very well done also.

I kinda liked the Section 31 series that crossed into all four titles Star Trek original series, ST: TNG, DS9, and Voyager.

And this is coming from someone who usually stays away from these types of novels.

I always hated the Star Wars novels with Han and Leia's kids because, well, I always thought they were stupid.

There's a DS9 book called "A Stitch in Time." It centers around Garek.

Then theres a STTNG book called "Q Squared" or something like that. REALLY good read concerning the Q Continuum.
