First of all, CONGRATULATIONS!!! It's a long road and can be rough at times... all the crazy things that happen and that you feel are normal. Make an appt with an OB, they will confirm your pregnancy and give you prenatal vitamins. Big things you should avoid is (of course) alcohol, cigarettes and drugs. Don't take anything without your OB saying it's ok... They should give you a list of preggo-friendly medicines too. Also avoid cold cuts (from the deli, they can have bacteria harmful to the baby) and too much fish, the mercury content in it can be bad for the baby too. Otherwise just eat healthy foods and whatever else you want is ok too in moderation. I've eaten pretty much everything I have wanted and gained 33 pounds and am having a perfectly healthy baby anyday now. Congrats again! Feel free to contact me on yahoo messenger for anything. daniellelucille

I second the recommendation on www.babycenter.com/pregnancy. Click on the pregnancy calendar and you can get updates on what's happening. You can also sign up for weekly emails throughout your pregnancy. Give your doctor a call and let them know you need to schedule your first prenatal appointment. They'll ask you for the first day of your last period to determine when to schedule you. Don't be surpised if they won't see you before you're 8-10 weeks pregnant. My doc called "What to Expect When You're Expecting" the worst pregnancy book with the best title, so unless you want to be scared out of your mind I'd skip it and get "Your Pregnancy and Birth" by the American Academy of Gynecologists and Obstetricians instead.
Start a prenatal vitamin if you haven't already, you can get them in the vitamin aisle at Walmart, you don't need a prescription. I'm sure you know to avoid alcohol and cigarettes. Don't lift anything over 20-25lbs.

Go to the doctor! Yup. best answer I can give you. Go get checked by a doctor and asked what to do and where to go, what to eat and how to take care of yourself. These people on yahoo might be just who they say they are and truly know what they are talking about. Then again, they could be some pimple face 13 year old boy who hasn't left the computer in 36 hours pretending to be a mom/doctor/nurse/someone who has been there for kicks since he doesn't have anything better to do with his time. Good luck.

a good book for you to read is what to expect when you expecting, it explains a lot, just eat healthy, try to eliminate caffeine, get plenty of sleep and call your doc to set up your first appointment with your OB
