As people grow older and experience life (and paying taxes) they (we) learn that politicians will say anything to get elected. You then learn to look past the candidates' campaign promises to see where they stack up in their past voting practices and what they actually have supported in the past. That usually leads people to vote for less extreme or radical people and vote for those that serve their needs the best. - hope that helps

I think I understand your question. Everything in my answer is my opinion though:

I see a trend where a generation grows up with an understanding of the world, and when they come of age to be the politicians and presidents, there leadership styles and ideologies reflect the times they grew up in. However, those times rarely reflect current times, causing confusion across generational gaps (generational gaps are, for example grandparents -> parents -> children). As evidence, look at how young people (myself included) tend to misunderstand all presidents and congresspersons. Look at how older people are very firm in their beliefs, even if they're out of touch.

Life cycles: I often notice that many Democrats are young, many Republicans are older. I heard a great quote from a friend: "It's easy to be a Democrat when you don't have a mortgage, car payments and have to start preparing to send a kid to college". I see a trend that the more responsible a person has to become, the more likely they are to adopt conservative tendencies. This is not meant to insult liberals, it's purely based on my observations.

You need to add details to explain you question better, it is somewhat vague as to what you mean.
