My son had acid reflux when he was an infant. I just gave him his med with a syringe. He got use to it. The med the Doc gave him was liquid, it was the most nasty smelling med I have ever encounter. You might want to see if they cn give him anything different I was told that my son would out grow the acid reflux. And he did, he was about three to four months when we took him off the medicine.
I hope your baby does too!!
Good luck!

Have you talked to her doctor about possible allergies and maybe trying a hypoallergenic formula? My daughter had acid reflux so bad that it would take over two hours just to feed her. At first we thought it could be allergies, so we tried alimentum, a hypoallergenic formula, which did not work. Then we tried neocate which is a prescription only hypoallergenic formula that costed 4 times as much as regular formula. That did not work either. Finally, after 8 months of my daughter suffering with every meal, the gastroenterologist prescribed prevacid, and within 2 weeks she was so much better. That was when she was 10 months old. Now she is four and a half and has no eating problems at all, thank god. If the prevacid is not working, maybe she does have some kind of allergy.

I don't have any experience with this medication, but do have experience with severe reflux. Are you breast or bottle feeding?? If you are bottle feeding you may consider switching to a formula like Nutramigen which is hypoallergenic. My daughter was put on Zantac @ 1mo old and also put on Nutramigen. The formula switch worked so well we didn't need the Zantac for reflux at all after that point.

my daughter had very bad Reflux problems were everything that she eat came back up so they put her on Prevacid and at first we had the same problem with feeding it to her she would spit it up and then eventually she just got use to it. But as for the Reflux it never got better she wasn't gaining any weight because of all the spitting up and her G.I. doctor was concern that with all the spitting up that it would go into her lungs and she would develop pneumonia so to prevent that she had surgery to put in a G. tub.

I wish I knew how to help. JD was on Zantac drops for his reflux. We haven't given it to him in about 2 months because he doesn't need it anymore. He'll be 1 next Tuesday. They gave us a syringe to give to him and we just put it on this side of his mouth a little bit at a time. GL

My daughter is almost 2 and has been on prevacid over a year. We do the syringe method. It is difficult at first, you just have to do a little at a time for them. As she got older it got a lot easier. my daughter doesnt spit up anymore and we are going back to the doctor in a month and hopefully she can get off the prevacid. good luck and just be patient.
