OK. I've heard lots of good things about Senator Obama, but I don't really research and I would like to know what are his negative points. Tell me why and if you feel he should not win the presidency.

.....I always love this statement. And where has that gotten us in the last 25 years?? Obama has shown plenty of smarts by staying out of sandboxes that he doesn't have to play in. The first was during his runnings for the Senate and the IL R Leadership was shooting itself in the foot with empty headed candidates.

Yes, his wife wants him to quit his smoking habit. Good for her.

The measure of a good president is taken by the people he surrounds him(hers)self with. No one person can be a complete know-it-all on all subject (thank goodness). If that wasn't the case think of how many Internet creators and self made climatologists we would have.

People talk about his lack of coming clean about his muslim heritage. I think he has told us all that he really needs to say. He has said more in his books, go read them. His mother has been his primary guiding light and I think she has done a pretty good job of bringing this young man into the world with grounded values.

BTW, for the record, I am an independent and have been my entire life. I also like Mitt Romney. His dad was my State gov in MI and we never once worried about how many wives he was going to have. Our country today gets a bit silly with its list of pet oddities that it wants to hinge all of its decisions on. Your question is hard to answer since I haven't really seen any showstoppers with Obama. I wish him well in his trek

He is not experienced enough yet. He has made some foolish mistakes in his campaign such as denouncing a particular bill that it turned out he voted for.

But he is young and may have a better shot in the future under the right circumstances.

I have nothing negative...only that he admitted to experimenting with drugs in his early adulthood, and he smokes...if you call those negative.

If you agree with the Iraq war, he voted against the war from the very beginning and is adamant about our withdrawal from Iraq...

It's all about perception and your political stand.

I admire the fact that he has been so candid about his history.

He voted to give illegals SS benefits when they have never paid into the system. He will not win because of many factors and that is just one of his votes that I dont agree with.
