No ...bacteria and moisture cause yeast infections.

Baby powder on the other hand...helps dry the skin to prevent the yeast infections...but people really don't use it all that much anymore...because it goes all over the place and kids end up inhaling it.

My son is five months old, he's never had a diaper rash, or a yeast infection or anything else...and we use NOTHING on him, no powder or ointment or anything.

Keep her/him clean, change her/him often and s/he'll be fine. :)

Congratulations by the way!!

No baby powder does not cause a yeast infection. powder is not put internally a yeast infection comes from within. It is an over production of moisture that can cause it. They say powder is not a great choice to use because the baby inhales the powder. Desitin original was recommended by my sons paediatrician, the rash vanished in hrs after use. Best way to avoid a rash is by keeping your baby's tush dry. They may get a rash anyway, some baby's are just sensitive.

YES both girls and boys get yeast infections... NO it is not caused by powder ...NO it won't go away on it's own (usually not) you will need a cream that treats Thrush.

The bacteria lives in the bowel and will come in contact with the skin when the child has a poo in his/her nappy. Change the nappy put some cream on and a little powder. Always change dirty nappies as soon as possible.

There are two types of herpes simplex virus: HSV-1 and HSV-2. Both virus types can cause sores around the mouth (herpes labialis) and on the genitals (genital herpes). Cold sores are caused by the herpes simplex virus (HSV).
Cold sores sometimes called fever blisters, are groups of small blisters on the lip and around the mouth. The skin around the blisters is often red, swollen, and sore. The blisters may break open, leak a clear fluid, and then scab over after a few days. They usually heal in several days to 2 weeks.
The herpes simplex virus usually enters the body through a break in the skin around or inside the mouth. It is usually spread when a person touches a cold sore or touches infected fluid—such as from sharing eating utensils or razors, kissing an infected person, or touching that person's saliva. A parent who has a cold sore often spreads the infection to his or her child in this way. Cold sores can also be spread to other areas of the body.

Baby girls can get them also from Bubble bath...keep away from Mr.Bubble ,that's horrible on girls, keep the powder on the out side it should be fine, and use only baby products on the baby. some babies have bad allergic reactions to new things like powders, lotions etc. 2 out of my 3 babies had allergies to a lot of the baby products, just need to be aware.

baby girls can get yeast infections. i don't know if baby powder can cause it.

my sisters daughter had one because her mil used to clean her buttucks from back to front instead of front to back.

so make sure if u have a girl that u wipe her front to back so that u don't introduce bacteria into the vagina.
