Many scientists think that the first "Native Americans" came from Asia. They base this on the the discovery of fossils. They claim they crossed the Bering Strait from Asia to Alaska about 8000 years B.C. when a "land bridge" supposedly existed there during the ice age. Most of the scientists feel that the Asians followed herds of buffalo to the U.S.

The Behring Strait was a 600 mile wide bridge between Asia and America during the last ice age which ended about 14,000 years ago, and was about 50,000 years long, and covered most of the Northern USA with ice averaging one mile thick.

Most likely they went back and forth at will.

Currently Asia/Russia is only about 58 miles from the USA in Alaska, and the Diomedes islands Russia/USA are only 2 miles apart.

The new Pathfinder movie has the Norseman coming to America before Columbus, which is probably true also.

It is generally believed that they crossed over from Russia to Alaska by following the Wooly Mamonths, then some followed the caribou further south where they found the buffalo, which they followed to the states.

Yes. The archaeological record supports it except for an anomaly at a site in Brazil. The probability is very high.

No. The only people who show signs of being linked to Asians are the Aleuts in Alaska. All the others show definite signs of being of a different origin, possibly European.

No its not a fact and if there was a land bridge traffic ran both ways! As an American Indian I resent those grave robbers theories, our creation stories which are just as valid as their holy writtings, tell us we were created here

They don't know...with the debunking of the Clovis theory, no one can say with any certainty.

...and actually it would be easy enough to test which of the ethnic groups are related with DNA tests now.
