I have a 11g pci wireless card(Netgear Rangemax) on the pc and most of the devices in the house are 11g Netgear.

The router (Netgear WGT625v3) is quite far away and I have some signal issues as well some connection drop outs* whenever there are lots of connections and lots of bandwidth going on.(Drop outs means I have to go down one floor and reset the router to make the internet work again).

I am thinking of upgrading the router. I found the Netgear Rangemax NEXT gigabit edition in a store close by but I want to be sure that it is going to solve my problems and perform better.

I want something with very big range to eliminate dead spots in the house and something that can handle lots of connections and bandwidth.

Shall I get that router?

Or is there a better solution for my case?

I already got an extra directional antenna for my computer but I want to eliminate dead spots(as much as possible of course) in the house since there are lots of portable devices that need to connect to the internet.

Also a more stable router that can handle more simultaneous connections and lots of bandwidth is very significant as well(so I wont have to go and reset the router at 3 in the morning if the internet goes down)

You can get what is called a signal booster, its an antenna that extends the range of your wireless signal. They usually cost about 70 dollars. This may be a better solution than a brand new router.

Get the high-gain antenna, which comes with reflectors to get all the signals pointed in a particular direction. Improves reception noticeably. (And you should be able to use it with your new router!)
