It's a decent area, though a little on the pricey side. You're close to major transportation hubs like the PA turnpike, so traffic can be a little congested at times in more commercialized areas.

It's got a somewhat colonial feeling - lots of houses on side roads with huge lots, not as many developments with houses stacked on top of each other.

Decent shopping in the area - you're not far from the Montgomeryville and King of Prussia Malls. Your usual mix of chain restaurants and local joints, and you're not all that far out of Philadelphia if you want something extra fancy

Merck's manufacturing facilities occupy large tracts in the area, so there's a sizeable population of Merck employees in the area.

There are distinct seasons and fall is really gorgeous in the area because there's still many long, winding roads with lots of trees.

Westpoint, PA and Lansdale, PA are connected. Merck, Sharp, and Dohme IS Westpoint, PA, everything surrounding is Lansdale. Unless you will be living at Merck, you will be living in Lansdale. Lansdale is a sleepy little town. It is very close to North Wales, PA which has a few big malls. It's outside of Philly, so the insurance rates are a little lower. There isn't much to do there, but you are also only about 30 minutes from Philadelphia, King of Prussia, etc. The weather is typical PA weather. Winters can be cold, summers, hot, etc. There isn't much to visit up there, as I said it's a sleepy little town.
