I mean accredited proper University of course. My vote is San Jose.

I don't think he was talking about San Jose State being a UC since he used the word "in".

In any case, I'm sure there's a 4 yr private that's worse than any of the Cal States. US News ranks the Cal States. They're just in the "Masters Universities" category for the West region instead of the big "National Universities" group. SJ State isn't the worst Cal State on the list.

San Jose is in the California State University (CSU) system, not in the University of California (UC) system. None of the CSU schools are selective or ranked. Since no one ranks these schools -- it is hard to tell which is the worst. None of them are even in the same league as the lowest rated UC school.

All of the UC schools are excellent. The lowest rated one is UC-Riverside (I'm not counting Merced -- since it just opened). UC-R is still rated hghly -- being above schools like University of Arizona, University of Kansas and Auburn University.

I suspect that there are some private universities in California that are worse than CSU-SJ.
