Dear sister,
i am very much pleased at your interst in Ramayan, one of the great epics of India.

Sita ,was abducted by the Ravana and was kept in Ashoka vanam ( as far as I know it is not ashoka vatika...vatica implies a ghat or a building).

When Hanuman, jumps over the mighty ocean and enters Lanka and finally sees SITA under the tree SIMSUPA , he makes a careful approach to her to make her believe that he is not a Raakshasa in disguise , but a messenger from Rama and presents Sri Rama's Ring as token.
Then in the conversation between Sita nad Hanuman, Sita very clearly says that Rama has kept her as captive , and given ONE YEAR TIME to change her mind and marry Ravana.Sita further clearly says only two months time is left in the one year that was given to her by Ravana.
After this hanuman ,after doing all he could, flies back to Sri Ram , and then Sugreeva, the king of Kiskinda with his army and Sri Rama,Lakshmana and Hanuman arrive at the end of the land, stand at the shore .After much deliberations Sri Rama decides build a bridge to make all his army to go to Lanka. Finally Sri Rama arrives in Lanka and a fearful battle takes plce for days together and finally ravana was killed and after Agni Pariksha ,Sita and Sri Rama and others come in Puspak Viman .So this period is almost nearly one month ond 25 days or so, because Sri Rama then says to Hanuman to go urgently to Bharata to tell that he is coming, since Bharata told Sri Rama that if Sri Rama does not appear before him the after fourteen years are over,he will end his life.

Taking all this into consuderation you can come to a conclsion that Sita was in ashoka vanam 10 months + 1month and 25 days or so.that is days short of one year.

this is clearly written in original Valmiki Ramayana.

You may please read atleast Sundara kanda to know these details.

hope what i said is some what useful to you.

May god bless you.

I think it was one year, the last year of Shri Rama's exile. The washerman says (once they return to Ayodhya) that he was no Rama who would take his wife back after she had lived in the house of another man long enough to even have a child. It was this train of thought that led Rama to desire the removal of a pregnant Sita from his household.

Exactly it was 93 days. At 94th day evening Hanuman went with the Ring of Lord Rama and at that time Ravana fired at Hanuman's tail so Lanka burned.
