He was a great man, he did great work, and he changed the nation. That's adequate!

He wasn't perfect, but that doesn't matter. Thomas Jefferson wasn't perfect, but Thomas Jefferson was great.

M.L.King was about self-worth and non-violence. He shamed the guilty system into reforming itself.

By the way, the Civil Rights struggle is over. Somebody should tell Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton. Your side won! Move on!

He had the ability to inspire and unite many people. He also found non-violent ways to protest inequities which were still very effective (Bus Boycott, sit-ins, marches, etc...). Plus, he was an eloquent speaker which made him popular and well-known. Also, he was killed, so he became a martyr for the cause.
