I think the fumes is bad for you, if you do just get your own nails painted

It is not dangerous to get you nails done, it is although bad for you to smell all the fumes in the nail salon. They use acrylic and the smell ( as you already know) is very strong. It is just like smelling paint. ( which you also should also stay away from not while pregnant) You may as well take you r nails off, and get them done again after you have the baby. Unless you know someone that can come to your home and do your nails without the acrylic, than sorry sweetie bye bye fake nails. Once you have the baby your gonna want to keep you nails shirt anyway. ( so you don't scratch the baby by mistake

You might as well get rid of those right now. I had gotten my nails done right when I found out I was preggo too. I just started getting my nails done again and my baby is about to turn 6 years old. Between the money you will be spending on your baby and the fact that you don't want to scratch up the baby when it gets here, there is no need for you to get those fillings done. Congrats on the pregnancy though.

I would not (and did not) put any chemicals in or on my body that didn't NEED to be there.
The biggest concern is the fumes, (that's why THEY wear the masks while they're doing your nails)
You can't sit there for an hour snorting up all those toxic chemicals while they do your nails.
I would take them off and live without them...
You wont' be able to safely have them once baby comes anyway
Once your prenatal vitamins kick in ...you'll be growing your own long strong beautiful nails...there's no better time to ditch those acrylics anyway.
My son is 5 months old and I'm still taking the prenatals...and my nails are longer and stronger and prettier than they ever have been...

No its not okay, every girl that has had her nails done before know how much chemicals they use and how stong the smell is, as soon as you walk in.. that will cause harm to your baby... Thats like when you are pregnant you can not paint, you will breathe in that chemical or even smell it and it will cause harm to your child! so if you plan to have a good and healthy baby i might think twice about getting your nails done. EVEN when it can be addicting to have them looking good.

I am 33 weeks pregnant and I am always getting my nails done, but since I am this far into my pregnancy I may not go get a fill anymore since the baby should be here any time now. just wear a mask like they do that way you won't have to smell the chemicals.

Yes, you can still get your nails done. But, you need to make sure you go to a place that is well ventilated. Because whatever you breath in, your baby breaths in, and some of the chemicals may be too harsh for the baby if the odors are lingering around. So be careful and trust your instincts when you walk into a place.

YES, you can! I'm 25 weeks pregnant and have had my nails done the entire time .. going in on Monday to get a fill :)
The only concern would be if you inhale the fumes for a long period of time .. BUT that isn't going to happen!
The girl who OWNS the salon I go to .. and does nails, 8 hours a day .. is also 25 weeks pregnant with her 3rd! Her and I are due the same day .. and she's working right up until delivery.
If she can stand it 40 + hours a week with no side affects .. you and I are fine! :)
congrats! Good luck! God bless! :)

The fumes are very strong for you and the baby and by the end of your pregnancy the doctor will probably tell you to take them off , so it will be better if you just take them off now and you'll see during the next few months your own nails will grow beautifully.

You can but it is best if you can get them done in your own home, or at the very least make sure the salon you go to is well ventilated.
Mind you all customers of nail and hair salons should insist on this all the time. The chemicals aren't good for the clients nor the staff.

Just look up the chemical MMA, used in some discount nail salons. Then you can determine whether or not you want to visit pregnant or not.
