The House restaurant on Grant and Columbus in North Beach is by far my favorite. It is VERY small, but has some of the most amazing food I've had in all of SF. GREAT wine list and really personalized service (at least there was about a year ago, which is the last time I was there....great male server, don't know his name). They had an incredible sea bass and we got to the point that we just told our server to order whatever he wanted for us, and we were never disappointed. IF they still have it, try the homemade apple crisp with wasabi ice cream for dessert. OMG.

Cafe Pescatore in the Fishermans wharf area. Upscale Italian. The Mozzerella Alla Griglia was the best appetizer/anti pasti I've ever eaten in my entire LIFE! I ate there years ago and have recommended it to everyone who goes to San Francisco and they've all come back with rave reviews. Note: San Francisco is noted to have some of the best restaurants in the US. I think you won't have a problem finding superb dining!
