I've had 5 kids and my first one hardly moved at all! I just used to feel him stretching and twisting occasionally but that was it. He never kicked and bounced around like my others did. I also had a miscarraige between my first and my second and it does make you very paranoid when you're pregnant again. I always worried and got scared if I thought I hadn't felt anything for a while. Luckily you only have a little while to go. When you have you have your baby in your arms then you'll be fine. If you are this worried then speak to your doctor or midwife and ask them to listen to your baby. They can't mistake you and your babies heartbeat as your heart beats more slowly and has a different sound. Hopefully this will put your mind at ease and help you relax. It's normal to worry especially if you've already lost one. Try and take one day at a time and even though it's hard try to relax and take it easy. Good luck and congratulations when the big day arrives.

It sounds like everything should be ok. Did the dr tell you how many beats per min he heard? I know mine always did. That's how you know he had the right heartbeat because your's will be a lot lower. The fluttering you feel IS most likely the baby moving. Some babies don't move as mush as others do. With my 1st she didn't move a whole lot. She pretty much stayed in a tight ball. Now my 2nd, my son, he moved like he was trying to bust out, and he made sure he took up all the room he had. I can understand that your concerned having had a miscarriage and all, but I don't think you really have anything to worry about. If it's bothering you let your dr. know and he's he/she is any kind of dr they will help you put your fears to rest.

Its true the movement diminishes somewhat as the baby has less room, and it is good that the doctor heard a healthy heartbeat, but it IS possible for him to miss something and the mother to be right in her worry.
DO the lying on your side thing and time how often he/she moves. If she moves 5-10 times in an hour that should put your mind at ease, if you feel less movement than that you should call your doctor again, tell him about it, and if he doesn't listen then demand a "non stress test" . Better safe than sorry, for sure. You are not being paranoid, its your job to try to keep your baby safe, right?

At 35 weeks a misscarriage is highly unlikely. You should listen to your doctor. My son did not move alot toward the end either, but he turne out just fine. Your worrying will do your baby more harm than good. The baby can be effected by your elevated stress levels and blood pressure. This must be your first pregnancy. Just try and relax, it good for both you and the baby.

I have always heard that as you get close to labor the baby starts moving less. I am 29 weeks pregnant, I feel flutters a lot and if they are in a pattern, it is most likely hiccups. And the doc knows the difference between your heartbeat and the child's heartbeat. I worry a lot too, but I am sure everything will be fine. It is just a mother's instinct to worry about this baby you are carrying.

Some babies just don't kick that much! If the movements have been the same throughout the pregnancy, then you don't need to worry. More of a worry is when the baby has been kicking a lot, and then suddenly stops.
There is no way that a doctor would confuse your heartbeat for a baby's heartbeat - a baby's heartbeat is twice the rate of its mothers.

Dont stress Hun. At the end of your pregnancy there is not much room for the baby to move. But you should feel something. When I was pregnant with my first i thought i didn't feel her move for a few days. I really panicked. I went to the doctors how had a listen and everything was fine. They said to me if you are quite busy or stressed you can become desensitised to feeling the movements. Dont work yourself up. That is not good for you or your baby. Call your midwife or maternity unit. That is what they are for. I hope everything is ok. My thoughts arewith you. Best of luck.

My dr. made me chart each time the baby moved in the last months. They dont move as much in the end. Try drinking a glass of milk or something with caffine, lie down for 30 min and count the # of times the baby moves. If it dont move much then I would call the dr. to see what he/she says.

If you are at all worried then you must contact your doctor. I was told that towards the end of the pregnancy that the baby doesn't move around that much due to lack of room but please go and see your doctor as soon as you can otherwise you'll only constantly worry. Take care and good luckxx
