Firstly, im a big UFC AND WWE fan.
Of late the UFC have been destroying the WWE with the PPV buys.
No way Out - the last PPV before Wrestlemania did a dissapointing 200,000 PPV buys. The UFC last year hammered the WWE with PPV buys, the Shamrock Ortiz PPV got something like 800,000 buys if I remember correctly.
Apart from the cross branding that they have decided to do this year (which i think is a great idea) What else can the WWE do to start competeing with the UFC in terms of pay per view buys.
Im sure Vince is not enjoying getting beat, and I expect WWE to get better this year because of it. Its good for WWE fans that its got some competition in a way, becuase Vince will try harder to compete with UFC, and the fans will get better shows!

Wrestling is in a low period right now. The nature of the beast of Pro Wrestling can't let them do what UFC does. Two examples:
1. Top UFC guys don't fight weekly on Spike TV unless its an old replay or special event. Unfortunately the top guys in WWE are wrestling every week. I suppose you could switch that format, but the fans might take it hard. The Monday Night Warz ended the notion of a card of squash matches on TV.
2. The same guys do not fight on every pay per view on UFC. The brand extension was in theory supposed to make it that way in wrestling too sort of. But we know Vince and he helped kill the idea of that. The basic problem that lies with this is that WWE just doesn't create stars like it used to. How many top names have made since 2000? Taking away John Cena would many would argue against, I can name one, Kurt Angle. I might be wrong there so feel free to correct me. But how many guys have left the WWE in that time because they were feeling held back? Jericho, Christian, that list can go on and on.
Wrestling has a lot to do before it can catch UFC, but keep in mind a couple things. UFC is hot right now, it won't stay like that forever, very few businesses have put themselves into a position to be on top forever no matter what they do, actually just one, football. Eventually people will tire out of UFC and they will go into a bit of a low cycle and wrestling will be back on top for a bit and so on. I see a boom cycle for wrestling within the next 2 years and it should stay that away for about 4 after that. Wrestlemania should also get a 1,000,000 buys this year, as it usually does or at least gets close in the most recent years.

One thing for all of the people out there UFC is the best there is just because it is REAL! Dont get me wrong i love the WWE but i have been slipping away from it because i cant stand how fake it is now and the storylines are stupid! I think UFC can indeed be better than WWE in the long run considering they just bought PrideFC. WWE will probably do better than UFC only if they make the storylines better were the champs dont keep there titles for soooo long they need to lose them every 3 ppv's or even 1 or 2! For me i get sick of watching Cena and London and Kendrick with the titles for the past YEAR!!!! WWE isnt the same as it used to be thats all i can say. Good luck to WWE but UFC is growing by the second.

I heard UFC is real, but as you know, the WWE wrestlers are bigger and stronger than the fighters in the UFC, so I'd say the WWE would win if there was a 10 vs. 10 elimination match with 10 guys from each respective organization.

dude are you kidding me? vince mcmahon would get his companys *** kicked if he ever had wwe step in to the octagon and besides ufc is mixed martial arts and is a real sport. not like the wwe garbage on raw. and besides wwe cant compete with ufc. if i was vkm i would keep my nose out of other sports because lets face it. wwe isnt the best and certainly doesnt have the greatest or best wrestlers only undertaker and flair. please wwe can never compete with ufc. ufc would kick wwes *** and would knock wwes *** out. ufc all the way.

UFC is just a fad. In a few years it will fade to the background. I agree that compitition is a good thing and hopefully it will make for a better wrestling product and force Vince to stop pushing horrible wrestlers (Khali) at us.
