Aren't a lot of people exactly the same, just that they search for fame rather than money?

I'm not asking about the dangers of being a social companion, i'm asking what people have against them so much. They are the not the ones who exploit people in bad situations.

Most of them do it to survive for money or drugs, and there are people who do the same thing, though maybe not to the same extent, just for fame.

If prostitution was safe and regulated it wouldn't be so bad. I mean the idea of selling sex really isn't that imoral if you think of everythign we are selling now adays. But, in general, most of the time prositution isn't the problem its everythign thing follows and surrounds it. The STD rate is skyrocketing and the drug use also. Most of the women in prostitution were driven there by reasons other than just employement. Some wome might simply enjoy sex and see no problem with making a living out of it, and if this were more common then maby it wouldn't be so shunned. But, most women are not there by choice.
I see nothing wrong with those fancy bordel houses practicing safe sex. I do see a problem with drug abusers falling into a bottomless pit of living on the streats and exploiting themselves for the sake of a meal or a fix.

In order to be a prostitute, a woman has to be at rock bottom in self esteem. Men who go from prostitute to prostitute will eventually pick up diseases and pass them on. A woman can't be in the business very long before being polluted with everything that comes along.
I don't know what you mean by, " Aren't a lot of people doing exactly the same "? If you mean that some women are having sex, but charging for it, I have to say that they sure don't expose themselves to disease dozens of times per day as some prostitutes do. The chances are less.

I think they should be legal like in Nevada.Get checked for STDs regularly to keep the permit for their trade. I hate to admit it but some of us wouldn't get any sex if not for the prostitute. I see nothing bad about them at all. And lets not use that P-word,lets call them "social companions".

They should just legalize prostitution already. It is for the most part a victimless crime. We can make it like any other business where you need a license to sell yourself. This license can involve being checked for STDs.
