1. African American influence on British rock and roll
2. " " " on the Beatles

British rock, late 50's early 60's was Merseyside, Liverpool.

One soon learns that the British did not "cover" Black artists as did say an Elvis or Pat Boone but tried to sing with the same style and emotion (something white America was not ready for yet).

There is much even on the Internet as to early Beatles and Mersey Liverpool rock as to how important the roots were to them.

Pick just one person, and focus on them. I would pick Little Richard. If Little Richard would have been white he would have been bigger then Elvis. White Radio would not play his music several of his songs most notably Tutti Fruiti were not played on white radio, but when it was recorded as a watered down version by a white artist it would be a big hit for them. Years later the watered down white versions were forgotten, and Little Richards a** kickin, rockin versions became classics
