I would go emerald green because most likely no one else will wear that color therefore you'll stand out.

My senior year (2005) I wore a beautiful olive green gown and nobody else had the color on. And my high school was pretty huge. I got so many compliments from people when we were down town eating dinner and from a lot of class mates when we were at the prom. Emerald Green is a beautiful color but for some reason, looks best on pale skin. Dark blue is beautiful as well but both colors depend on the fabrics you choose. Both colors look amazing in a more shimmery fabric but can look a bit drab or unclassy when done on a soft, velvet type fabric. Either way, depending on where you live maybe, both colors will provide you with a dress more unique than say, pink or white would. The two colors you have narrowed your decision to thus far are colors of class and often elegance, and when I think of the perfect dress in green I think of ones like this:

But this type of dress (same color) is pretty fashionable right now and looks great on any figure. Not sure if your area is into short or long dresses:

This dress below in the dark blue color is a unique style that you may not feel bold enough to wear, not sure if I would, but the color is beautiful and the fabric is the type I was referring to that I feel the color looks best in:

Ok, too long of an answer. lol. I hope you have an awesome time at prom. Whatever you decide to wear, make sure you can dance in it. Don't waste your time standing around worrying about what other people will think, it will ruin your time.

Emerald green. Dark blue would make it look kinda black.....and black would be the last resort that I would wear to prom. (Even though I've decided not to go). Also green makes everybody's skin tone look nice. Imagine the accessories you can add on to the dress. Make sure the dress is long and "prom looking"...you know...not something you would wear to the club or a summer dress. But elegant and pretty.

Before when I was wanting to go to prom.... I went to this site:

definitely go emerald green! it will flatter your skin tone (if you look like your avatar) and you will stand out all nite! people will keep complimenting you and you'll feel so special, therefore have a bettter nite. plus, not many people will choose that color since evryone always goes safe and chooses pink, black, blue, red and etc. As for accessories wear emeralds (of course) or other stones in that same family colors. or maybe some nice diamonds and rhinestones. shoes? wear some nice black satin round-toed pumps. don't go to high though or u cant dance all nite! try 2 and 1/2 inch. heels or 3 inch.

I'd say the Emerald green. It is a universally flattering color on everyone. Not that a dark blue doesn't but it tends to look older unless it is really detailed. With the Emerald green depending on your coloring you could dress it up with great ruby colored jewelry. Maybe an elegant floor length A-line or sheath silhouette with a great peep toe shoe. Possibly something with great detailing on the hemline.

(slightly lighter then emerald)

(not quite floor length, but the hemline adds another dimension)

(beautiful detailing adds to the dress)

If you find you are more partial to wanting a dark blue, same rule applies, just a straight blue dress will look boring, make sure there is great detailing adding depth to the dress. Pearls are great with blue, think ocean..pearls..looks very elegant.

(more of a teal but the dress could be dressed up so fabulously)

(not shown in blue, but the detail in nice and the hem is fun)

(fun, could be dressed up with funkier pieces of jewelry and shoes)

Well I hope this helps, you wouldn't have to purchase these dresses, they are just examples of colors and silhouettes. Have fun!

An emerald green with no straps and like down to your ankles kind-of-long dress. You should look really pretty with this!!! Good Luck!

Go with the emerald green. It elegant and rarely seen (at least where I live) Also, go with the floor length dress. They are cute and you can take your shoes off to dance :] (very important...lol)

Emerald Green ,its very dramatic, a long dress would be best worn with long gloves , a small bag and comfy shoes .

I think dark blue, if you are talking about like navy blue. If you mean like cobalt blue I would go with the green. Short dresses are kind of in this year i think, look at promgirl.net or promgirl.com for some ideas.
