Hey girl get a DAB radio or listen on the Internet to Planet Rock. Some awesome music and Alice Cooper has his own slightly weird show 8am - 9am breakfast with Alice. Great website to with plenty of rock related prizes. Two VIP tickets up for grabs for the Rolling Stones. Rock n Roll will never die, (at least not till the old sod's like me roll over and die).

It's all about money, like everything else.

Radio stations play a mix of older and newer stuff, but they certainly get paid off (by recording companies) to play certain songs, by certain artists (from certain albums). It helps the record companies drive sales. Nobody is making money (anymore) from older stuff.

Also, I think since the technology is available, people are "customizing" their music. Instead of the radio, where you never know exactly what song is coming up next, people play their own music mixes, off of CD's or MP3's or whatever. Personally, if I'm listening to music, it's almost never on the radio; it's a CD that I mixed myself. In fact, the only time I have the radio on at all (such as in my car) is if I need particular information (the weather report, etc).
