Today I took my son late to school for the first time, and wow to my surprise I saw how many parnets were also late, I mean the line was huge, so why don't the schools change the time, I mean parnets are not going to change, they'll drop there kids off ater 8.

I have had a hard time dealing with USA education. Teachers are on a pay schedule and rarely stay after to help kids. When I was in school, the teachers were willing to remain and were concerned with the kids needing help.

Now, the teachers are more concerned with themselves. Tenure teachers around here get paid $70 K a year, while my husband earns less! I find it difficult to believe they are underpaid for the 9 months of work.

They will be the reason why schools will not start later. If they started later, they would STAY later. Who will take little Johnny to school at 10am and pick him up at 4? I'm at work by 8:30 am and get out at 5pm.

I used to get my kids to school late, then I got them excited about "play time" before school. Now the goal is to get to school with maximum play time, not just on time.

Their school starts at nine, and just as many parents get late. Seriously, that's just human nature, being late, having the school later won't help.

Even at work, people would show up late if they weren't fired and didn't get pay docked for it.

If the school sets start time to 9 , there will be parents that won't drop of their kids till 5 or 10 after. You'll never please the all.

School hours have traditionally been set as early as they are so farm children would have time to do chores when they get home. And as for me, I think they are just fine the way they are.
